A YOUNG man walks into a Home Depot and buys a large quantity of acetone. Later, a young man walks into a beauty supply store and buys hydrogen peroxide. Still later, a young man is observed parked outside a nondescript federal building in a rented van, taking photographs.

This dilemma was at the heart of hearings before the Senate Homeland Security Committee last week, in which several federal officials warned that “homegrown terrorists” represent the nation’s greatest emerging threat. According to the F.B.I. director, Robert Mueller, Al Qaeda “has looked to recruit Americans or Westerners who are able to remain undetected by heightened security measures.” This reality has led Janet Napolitano, the secretary of Homeland Security, to conclude that “homeland security begins with hometown security.” And hometown security begins with locally based observations of “suspicious” activity. So, can we encourage such observation without also encouraging a disregard for privacy and constitutional rights?

We may get our answer from a project now being undertaken by the Justice Department called the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting Initiative. Federal, state and local law enforcement officials have set up “fusion centers” for the program in about a dozen cities, including Boston, Chicago and Houston, where reports of suspicious activities made by citizens and the local police are collected and analyzed for disturbing patterns.

The legal arguments are themselves enough to demand that a person occupying the office not be disabled by conflicting loyalties. But the proof-is-in-the-pudding arguments are the ones that show that the one and only document the man has provided in his defense is a demonstrable forgery, and an artless one at that.

One does not forge a document one possesses. The presumption then becomes that he is not eligible to the office, and that he is now obligated to explain the forgery and to show his birth certificate.

Just have that paperwork all ready to go in case any honorable United States assets need it for their legal defense.

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama started the school week Monday with a call for a longer school year, and said the worst-performing teachers have "got to go" if they don't improve quickly.

Bemoaning America's decreasing global educational competitiveness, Obama sought in a nationally broadcast interview to reinvigorate his education agenda. At the same time, the president acknowledged that many poor schools don't have the money they need and he defended federal aid for them. But Obama also said that money alone won't fix the problems in public schools, saying higher standards must be set and achieved by students and teachers alike.

Asked in an interview if he supported a year-round school year, Obama said: "The idea of a longer school year, I think, makes sense." He did not specify how long that school year should be but said U.S. students attend classes, on average, about a month less than children in most other advanced countries.

"That month makes a difference," the president said. "It means that kids are losing a lot of what they learn during the school year during the summer. It's especially severe for poorer kids who may not see as many books in the house during the summers, aren't getting as many educational opportunities."

FBI Test Scandal Explodes: Investigation Finds Widespread Cheating On Domestic Spying Exam

The FBI's Inspector General has found evidence of widespread cheating on an exam intended to test agents on Bush-era domestic intelligence-gathering guidelines.

The multi-millionaire owner of the Segway company died in a freak accident yesterday when he rode one of the high-tech two-wheel machines off a cliff and into a river.

The Obama administration wants to require U.S. banks to report all electronic money transfers into and out of the country, a dramatic expansion in efforts to counter terrorist financing and money laundering.

Officials say the information would help them spot the sort of transfers that helped finance the al-Qaeda hijackers who carried out the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. WASHINGTON – A powerful computer code attacking industrial facilities around the world, but mainly in Iran, probably was created by experts working for a country or a well-funded private group, according to an analysis by a leading computer security company.

I absolutely guarantee you that this Stuxnet worm was created by US or Israeli assets for several purposes, one of which is to provide a pretext for passing "cybersecurity" legislation. Do you remember how the "news" media don't actually do news? Henceforth, the presumption shall always be against United States. In order to pull a wiretap, the agent will have to make his case three separate times, before three different judges. All three will have to concur that a wiretap is warranted.

This is because a United States law enforcement agent WILL abuse his power, all while being in no way engaged in law enforcement, as evidenced by that smoking 7-series compressor on Murray Street nine years later.

They're simply too stupid to wiretap the right guys. I doubt they'd be able to fill out the paperwork three times the same way, much less make their case three times convincingly.

So the answer is generally going to be 'no.'

You get a whistle and a nightstick --which is all you've demonstrated yourselves to be capable of handling.

When you can --oh, I don't know-- get the right guys for once, maybe we'll move you up to a walkie talkie. Wiretaps are obviously wayyyy out of your league.

NEW YORK, Sep 21, 2010 (IPS) - The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) improperly spied on U.S. activists involved in First Amendment-protected activities and mischaracterised nonviolent civil disobedience as terrorism, which placed innocent activists on terror watch lists, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) charged Tuesday in response to a new report by the Justice Department's Inspector General.

Inspector General Glenn A. Fine undertook his investigation after a Freedom of Information Act request by the ACLU uncovered evidence that "the FBI was chilling political association and improperly investigating peaceful advocacy groups", the civil rights group said in a statement.

The Inspector General (IG) found the improper investigations were often opened based on "factually weak" or even "speculative" justifications, and were sometimes extended in duration without sufficient basis.

But once you can demonstrate that government is in no way involved in protecting you and, indeed, involves itself in flying drones into buildings, its every moral claim to act evaporates, like the smoke and mirrors and colored feathers of religion.

And at that time, you get to erect a new government to replace the one that retired itself. And if you don't like welfare recipients with guns running around, barking orders and taking down people's names and putting them on no-fly lists --which is what the FBI involves itself in-- you simply disarm them and put them on the breadline where they belong.

...'cause no decent American, possessed of natural rights which he may exercise as he sees fit, who is probably losing his home and his dental insurance and his standard of living anyway, is at all disposed to permitting welfare recipients with guns to continue drawing a paycheck fulfilling their bloatware job description of harassing decent Americans.

The FBI is completely useless and is in no way involved in law enforcement. Why, you will even find that the FBI was involved in ginning up 9-11 patsies, just like they worked with the Southern Poverty Law Center in ginning up Elohim City patsies like McVeigh to take the fall for the ATF's demolition of the Murrah Building in Oklahoma City.

The FBI is a useless anachronism. They spend their time convincing everyone that their Bureau is way more trouble than it's worth.

You just buy the thing --which is about the size of a few credit cards stacked together, and you activate it and it broadcasts a wireless network to five devices. It's not a phone and it does not imply that you can place calls over it. It's just a piece of hardware that let's you get internet over Sprint's network.

I don't know what Sprint's 3G download speeds are, but they're probably respectable. For comparison purposes, I routinely get 2.5 Mbps over Verizon's network. It's probably similar.

At this point, I didn't believe it was possible, but the Obama administration has just reached an all-new low in its abysmal civil liberties record.  In response to the lawsuit filed by Anwar Awlaki's father asking a court to enjoin the President from assassinating his son, a U.S. citizen, without any due process, the administration late last night, according to The Washington Post, filed a brief asking the court to dismiss the lawsuit without hearing the merits of the claims.  That's not surprising:  both the Bush and Obama administrations have repeatedly insisted that their secret conduct is legal but nonetheless urge courts not to even rule on its legality.  But what's most notable here is that one of the arguments the Obama DOJ raises to demand dismissal of this lawsuit is "state secrets":  in other words, not only does the President have the right to sentence Americans to death with no due process or charges of any kind, but his decisions as to who will be killed and why he wants them dead are "state secrets," and thus no court may adjudicate their legality.

Mister Obama has demonstrated himself to be an animal, and his jurisdiction to be an illness. Why, my pet name for him is Li'l Piggie Pig. When I snap my fingers and summon him, he runs and grunts his way across that pigsty called Washington.

No person possessing even a modicum of decency would associate with such a lawless jurisdiction, any more than the decent person would be seen in public with the town rapist. Governments come and go. They don't last forever. They all eventually become overrun by sociopaths. It is as predictable as the rise of the sun in the morning. One may know the civility of a society by what sort of barf-inducing political structure they will permit to stand. Eventually even the most corrupt society's conscience becomes shocked.

(And those beasts over at United States are so degenerate that they lack the ability to see why no one even recognizes that barnyard they call a jurisdiction.)
