Souad Abed Rabbo said she was shot as she pushed her son back inside and her granddaughters fell on the stairs. When the shooting was over, she said, 2-year-old Amal and 7-year-old Souad were dead.
The allegation is one of at least five such white flag incidents that human rights investigators are looking into across the Gaza Strip. It's part of a growing pattern of alleged abuses that have raised concerns that some Israeli soldiers may have committed war crimes during their 22-day military campaign in Gaza.
ISRAEL'S RESPONSE
The Israeli military, which Prime Minister Ehud Olmert called ''the most moral army in the world,'' said it is investigating the increasing number of war crimes allegations, but it rejected any suggestion that its soldiers had targeted civilians.

Yes, but what morality? This morality?:
The Israeli army's chief rabbinate gave soldiers preparing to enter the Gaza Strip a booklet implying that all Palestinians are their mortal enemies and advising them that cruelty is sometimes a "good attribute".
The booklet, entitled Go Fight My Fight: A Daily Study Table for the Soldier and Commander in a Time of War, was published especially for Operation Cast Lead, the devastating three-week campaign launched with the stated aim of ending rocket fire against southern Israel. The publication draws on the teachings of Rabbi Shlomo Aviner, head of the Jewish fundamentalist Ateret Cohanim seminary in Jerusalem.
In one section, Rabbi Aviner compares Palestinians to the Philistines, a people depicted in the Bible as a war-like menace and existential threat to Israel.
In another, the army rabbinate appears to be encouraging soldiers to disregard the international laws of war aimed at protecting civilians, according to Breaking the Silence, the group of Israeli ex-soldiers who disclosed its existence. The booklet cites the renowned medieval Jewish sage Maimonides as saying that "one must not be enticed by the folly of the Gentiles who have mercy for the cruel".
So when Mister Olmert mentions morality, we must question precisely what moral code he's referencing. But we've gotten a look at his moral code already, contained in the Talmud. Adherents of this illness regard members of other clans to be subhuman. So it's no surprise that they employ phosphorus weapons and shoot children in the head and bulldoze Palestinian corpses into pits.
Israelis can't be bargained with. No accord can be reached with them because they have a distinctly different moral code than the rest of humanity. Like a misprogrammed android, they operate according to an erroneous fundamental code of behavior.
Adherents of Talmudic Judaism practice a moral aberration. Their conception of morality is unknown to the remaining 98% of humanity. Their conception of morality permits murdering their own in gas chambers. Meditate on that for a moment. They murder their own, so flying planes into buildings is nothing.
To speak with an Israeli is like speaking to an Orc. It's not that they're inherently incapable of understanding you, but that there is no common moral frame of reference.
Israelis do not speak everyone else's moral language.
War crimes? Israel itself is a crime. It is a physical manifestation of a moral code that is repugnant to any decent human.
If you care to examine the inner workings of Orthodox Judaism --which I have-- you will find that its adherents practice a morality that is so divergent from that practiced by the rest of humanity that they truly almost qualify as a foreign species.
We're dealing with people who truly, honestly, believe all non-Jews to be subhuman.
If I had to sum up satanism in one phrase, it would be this: "Do what thou wilt." This is essentially the distillation of the Talmud. "Do what you will to members of competing clans."
There is something very, very wrong with modern Judaism. You folks jumped the track somewhere along the way. 'Cause I gotta tell ya, from over here you look like pigs.
